JMF is a major force in steel fabrications with a blue chip customer account base including Terex, Powerscreen, F G Wilson and Wright Bus. The company is based in Ballymoney, Co Antrim. JMF launched Concept Trailers three years ago and in a short period Concept has become a leading supplier to major bodybuilders for curtainsiders and trailer vans. It has earned a reputation for high quality and competitive unit cost. Their current output is 25 trailers per week but a new trailer fabrication and assembly facility will increase capacity to 2500 units per annum. The extended facility, which represents a major investment for JMF, will also benefit from a new computerised shot blast and powder coating system, which is currently being installed. The powder coating system will be a first for UK trailer manufacturing. Announcing details of the acquisition, James
Murray said, "The acquisition of Boalloy Holdings is a bold move
for JMF at a time of market contraction in the UK trailer industry. We
are optimistic that the integration of Concept Trailers with Boalloy and
M+G will be good news for all three companies. It is our intention to
keep the M+G Trailers facility at Lye in the West Midlands with its strong
brand reputation and flexibility to build highly customized semi-trailers,
step frames, drawbars, fixed and sliding skeletals, PSKs, coilers and
bulkers. The Concept factory at Ballymoney will concentrate on high volume
curtainsiders and van chassis for fleet customers both direct and especially
now through Boalloy's Tautliner range. Both factories combined will give
us a total production capacity approaching 4000 trailers per annum and
a leading position in the UK trailer market. The Boalloy Tautliner brand
is universally accepted as not only the first, but also the best curtainsider
in the market. With the combination of JMF's financial strength and the
Tautliner brand, we intend to recover market share and re-position Boalloy
as the UK's leading curtainsider and box van manufacturer." |
